Batch Download Submitted Student Files from the Grade Center

You can download a zipped file folder of all submission files through the Grade Center.  However, you will still need to open each student's attempt individually, in order to be able to assign a grade.

  1. When a student submits an assignment, a yellow circle with an exclamation mark appears under the grade column for the Assignment item.
  2. Scroll horizontally to locate the column that contains the assignments you would like to download.
  3. Click the arrow action link to the right of the the Assignment's title on the column's header.
  4. Select Assignment File Download from the drop-down menu.
  5. Under Select Users, check the first box to download all submissions, or check the box beside each student name to download only selected submissions.

N.B. To download only those submitted files that have not been assigned points, select the items with Needs Grading in the Grade column on the right-hand-side.
  6. Click Submit.
  7. Selected Assignments are packaged as a .ZIP file. Click the link Download assignments now and save the file(s) to your computer.
  8. Locate the .ZIP file on your computer.
  9. Open the .ZIP folder to view contents.

  • Only use alphanumeric characters for assignment column names.  If your columns contain punctuation or symbols (e.g., *, #, $, @, etc.) you may encounter errors when attempting to batch download assignments.
  • There is currently no feature within Blackboard that allows for batch grading and upload of assignments.
